In this brief I had to make an animated short without using words to tell the narrative. We had to retell either a storybook, legend or urban myth.
 

I decided that I was going to retell the story of Beauty and the Beast, but change the genders of the main character’s. I thought this was an interesting concept because it would challenge the preconceptions of female beauty.

 

I chose to animate the film using silhouette animation resembling the style of German animator/illustrator Lotte Reiniger.
